| Post subject: | Rattling Speedometer |
I’m experiencing a strange buzzing sound from the instrument panel when driving at and above 50 mph. It starts clicking around 50mph and by 55mph it a full blown (and annoying) buzzing sound. It almost sounds like small connection might be rattling only as the speedometer needle reaches the the 50ish mark. My questions: 1)Anyone experience this? 2)Tips for removing the instrument panel for when I go exploring… Thanks for you thoughts. |

I think I have the same thing but it goes away if I push on the dash. Try that and let me know. I AM CURIOUS. |

At first I thought it was just the dash (or plexi-glass infront of the gages), but it's so consistant with regards to speed that I think it might just me something else. When I apply pressure to the cover around the trip reset, it seems to lessen... |

In my attempt to remove the speedo / tach gages, I removed the knee bolster, drivers side A-pillar handle and trim, dash, and trim pieces surrounding the cluster. As I was unscrewing the final trim piece surrounding the gages, my interior fuse panel lid fell off (drivers side between door and dash). I have a feeling that it was loose to begin with. It wouldn't have just fallen off if it weren't already dislodged. Anyway, I put it (and all other pieces) back into place and didn't hear the rattling when driving to work this AM. I'll post again if it pops up. |
