I have a noise coming from my radio that sounds like an annoying squeak. You would never guess it's the radio.........sounds more like the actual Jeep squeaking.........kind of like a hamster running in a squeaky wheel. The problem is it is very subtle and mixed in with the music or whatever is on the radio. It's one of those things that I thought I was just imagining & ignored, but this morning it caught my attention again so I experimented turning the radio off and on, and it's definitely real and coming from the radio. It's annoying. But my guess is the dealer won't notice it because it's so subtle and mixed in with the radio. How on earth can I get them to fix it if they can't hear it? It won't do it with the volume turned off. I can hear it better if I turn the volume up, but still I could see the dealer saying I'm nuts because it's hard to pick up on it unless you know what to listen for. |

Answer is you can't. But if you can hear it, they should be able to. Don't get all psyched out before you talk to them. |

That's what I was afraid of. It's just one of those things you hear in the back of your head. You can sit there and not notice it then all of a sudden your brain will pick up on it, and then it becomes annoying. I guess I'll give it a try. Maybe I'll get a mechanic with really good hearing. I wish I could find a way to isolate the noise somehow. Turning the radio up helps to hear it better, but it's still subtle and mixed in with other radio noise, and somewhat intermittant. |

At the very least, you will be documenting the problem, and if it gets worse or happens out of warranty, they still should fix it. |

Have you tried putting it on a spot of the FM band where you don't pick up a station? It should show up then. Terry |
