Just bought an 'OEM' front license plate bracket from EBAY. Great bargain if it fit well. This one doesn't match the bumper curvature that well, and will protrude over the top of the bumper in order to use the screw holes in the bracket.
The part number is 55156887AA. The only Google hit on this part number is a Russian site that lists this number as fitting a 2006 Cherokee with Venzuelan plates. Libertys were sold in Europe as Cherokees, not sure about 2006 models, though. The bracket does have a Chrysler logo.

My question is how well does your front bracket match the bumper. If it fits well, what's the part number?

Thanks!

You didn't indicate if you had a Limited, Sport or Renegade or what year.

Mine fit fine on my '06 Limited. When I installed my front hitch I had to turn it 180 degrees and drill two new holes. It is now lined up with a seam in the plastic bumper and the top stands above the top of the bumper.

It's a Limited. I looked at it again, and other than sticking up over the bumper (which is rather narrow), it looks OK. The instruction sheet has the correct part number according to the dealer- but the number molded in the bracket is off by 1. The instruction sheet is screwed up, though. It says for rear plate installation on a dimpled fascia.

For 4$ plus shipping, it beats the heck out of the $45 the local dealer wants.

Actually, when I installed it, the fit was perfect. The holes in the bracket match the "dimples" in the bumper, and the top of the bracket is at the top of the bumper.
