| Post subject: | BRAKES making scrapeing sound |
Well my brakes started making a scraping sound yesterday after a 4 hour trip in the rain, Now after i use my brakes they make the scraping sound allthe time now. Its like they wont release completely. I have done the back up and smash the brakes it works sometimes but as soon as i hit the brakes to stop and release they start to scrape, now they make the scrapeing sound all the time. The real kicker its memorial day and i have to drive back four hours today back to work.... So no place is open and no one around. And i have a four hour trip with my brakes possibly killing themselves... So help me underdog help. |

How many miles are on the jeep? Does it sound like its coming from the front or rear? The rear calipers are known to stick.. Could be that.. If it is, its best to go ahead and replace that caliper along with the rotor and pads if they need it. |

32k might need brakes. 80k on mine and they've been through several pairs already. You should be able to get down there with a flashlight and look up inside the calipers and see if u have pad material left. you may be on the scrapers/indicators. You may also have picked up a piece of gravel or have something small like rust or a little piece of metal stuck in there. |
