Post subject:  rear brake question--sticking, maybe

This noise I am getting is driving me nuts!!! So I was checking my brakes and it looks like my rear pads have less space (hardly any) between them and the rotor. The front have more space between them and rotor. I don't have anyway of measuring this but it almost looks like it's touching. They (front and rears) both had about 5mm of pad left a couple of weeks ago when my dealership did my free oil change. My tranny skid should be in tomorrow at the dealer and I'll stop by and see what they say. I have exactly 36000 miles so I might be out of luck if it's a warrenty issue. Just wanted some input. Thanks.

Well unless it's a calipher you'd be out of luck anyway.Brake wear parts(pads, rotors) are only warrenty items for the first 12,000 miles, after that your on your own. After driving for awhile stop and feel the center of the rims, are the rears really hot,if it's to hot to touch the rears are dragging(possible parking brake to). Most likely you just need new pads and rotors, the sqeak bars are probally touching the rotors telling you it's time for changing.
