I need to repalce my DS axle, are they just c clip axles into the drivetrain, or are they bolted in? I haven't been under to look at it yet.

do I need any odd tools other then a 35mm?

The front CV's are held in place by a c-clip,no need to remove the diff cover though, just put a pry bar behind the inner CV and pry out against the diff housing. It will pop out then,it requires some force to get to pop back in though. Here is a pic of the inner CV,pry at the area circled(same place for both sides, this is a pic of the pass side).

You may need a puller(a regular 2 arm puller will work just fine) to get the axle out of the knuckle.35mm works, that's the size I have and have used so it does fit,the other Jeeps in ? have solid axles so they are going to be different, plus those take a 12 point socket you can use a 6point socket on the KJ(35mm of course).
