What a great day! Was showered with little girl hugs and kisses when I woke up (got to sleep in TWO days in a row). I received a lovely hand-drawn card from my daughter, a really touching one from my wife (my voice ALMOST cracked reading that one out loud), and a radio-control boat I'd been admiring. Spent the late morning at the nearby water park with my wife and daughters. After dinner, we topped off the day with dessert at Dairy Queen. It was pretty much an ideal summer day. When my oldest daughter and I tried the RC boat yesterday evening for the first time, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning! The little boat is a hoot! It's a 14" electric that goes about 20 mph. It's supposed to run for 20 minutes on a full charge too. (I'll test that theory tomorrow.) Our neighborhood's full of large retention ponds that I've often said looked ideal for RC boating. When my oldest is a little bigger, I'll let her take the helm, but for now she enoys throwing stones and watching me buzz the shore. (FWIW, the boat make is Pro Boat, and the model is Mini-V. Comes ready to run, but needs a separate battery and charger.) I hope all the other dads enjoyed their day of recognition. Kids are a blessing. |
