Before I downsize from my factory 17” to a 16” wheel for the Liberty, perhaps I should hold off. Seems like the majority of vehicles coming out now these days are wearing 17” wheels. Is it safe to assume that our favorite tire companies are going to start making a variety of tires that would fit 17” wheels or am I being hopeful? THANKS |

Hard to say really. Most tires suited for off terrain seemed to have stop being developed beyond the 16" size. I'm not sure what it is about the 17" rim that scares everyone away. |

Only Goodyear makes MTR's. Could be the KM's or MT's. |

Another thing to keep in mind is the difference in price. For example: a 35" tire for a 15" rim is about the same price as a 31" tire of the same brand for a 16" rim. Keeping that in mind what do you think the price would be for a 17" rim??? |

Ive never had trouble finding tires that fit my 17in rims. Maybe you need to find a new favorite tire? |

I'd keep both sets around if you have the room no good off-road tires are out for the 17's in a stockish size. and sidewall flex can be good offroad. |

I beg to differ. They just aren't cheap. |

You should get more tire flex and less wheel damage with the smaller rims and larger sidewalls. |
