I need to get a receiver rack and i was wondering how many people use them, and what kind they have...

Im sure the standard ones wouldnt clear the spare tire, but Im very intrested in this one http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Prod ... eiver+rack

Does anyone use this one, or one like it? I like this one because it comes up and gives you a lil better departure angle.

That one's kinda pricey. u can usually find em around $100 or so for a standard one. If it doesn't clear the tire just get an extender.

that one does look nicer than most though...

I've got the WalMart special with a 12" extension. Works OK for the $75 I've got in it; however, it's both inexpensive and cheap. My next one will be much nicer, considering how much I use it...

Yep, I've got my eye on that one too!! It'd be perfect for fitting our coolers into when we go camping!!

I need one for my snowblower  but can't seem to find a good one that'll hold it & that I don't have to modify plus it's about 250pnds

Most racks can hold 500lbs raceinfan but thats without the extension.

No way would I put 250 lbs on a hitch basket. The heaviest thing I've had on mine was a Dana 35 axle housing, and it really changed the way the jeep handled, in a very scary way. I don't know what they weigh but I can lift one by myself so it must be under 100lbs or so.

Do yourself a favor and rent or borrow a trailer instead. You'll have much better results.

so does anyone know if the Z style basket will work for ours? I dont really like the extension idea, it works, but 1. i dont like how it looks 2. I dont like the extra leverage it has.

you've got to get out past the tire, so your going to get the leverage no matter what.

yea true, but in my opinion i think i would look better if it came out and went up.

I got mine from Tractor Supply...I think it was $60. I ended up welding the two halves together so I could remove the bolts to get extra room inside the basket for my cooler and grill to go. The basket doesn't quite clear the spare tire (I don't have an extension), but that hasn't stopped me from hauling anything with it.

If I have something to big to clear the tire, I put it in the front hitch.

anyone tried carrying a mountain bike on these things?? I have a full suspension norce north shore bike that won't fit onto pretty much any of the hitch bike carriers i've seen.

Ive got the extender and pushed it all the way into the hitch and redrilled the hole in the extender . Then I pushed the Cargo carrier and the way into the extender and redrilled the carrier. It just clears the tire and looks 100 percent better. But I sold the liberty and dont need it any more. It cost 50 bucks but would sell it for the right price.

http://www.etrailer.com/pc-CC2~52018F.htm

I have been looking at this one on Etrailer.com. VERY pricey but the long insert and the hing LOOKS like it will extend past the tire AND raise it a little so it wont drag the ground going through creeks or ditches.

Rated at 500 lbs, tongue weight on my hitch is 750 lbs....

Anybody seen this one in person?

Just emailed etrailer and asked for any kind of spec sheet.
