Nice! Glad to hear something good came out of it. So are you getting the tire carrier too (I am not sure if it is standard on it)?

Definitely add the tire carrier for future mods.

i am pretty sure that i will have to buy that on my own because the insurance will not cover it
i will try the bumper out first and then see if i need the tire carrier.
also getting the tire carrier will depend if i get a lift or not.

go talk to the shop and see if they will order the bumper and then you can cover the add. cost. Thats what I did with my car when i got rear ended and the shop I went to let me do that so I got a different upgraded bumper.

Im glad to see that you can get insurance to replace it with the RL.

i don't know if i want the spare tire carrier... it adds unnecessary weight imho, but i will be getting a lift when my warranty runs out...

whoever has installed a RL rear tell me if it's that hard to do for a really novice mechanical person??? and also, how the heck do i take off the stock plastic stuff without ripping it up? are there some pop-rivets (i know those will break) that come off, or is the plastic really bolted to the body/frame? thanks!

It is actually easy to do if you have a buddy to help you. A bit harder alone since the bumper weighs so much. Jack stands and a floor jack did the trick.

A few of the places on the rear fascia are bolted.

Look around on the forum (search) to find all the info you need about removal and install.

Got intouch with Marty and i will be receiving my bumper in the next 2 weeks or so!
Marty is AWESOME!!!!!
Gotta question for you all though... Do you think that I should just have it painted to match my flares, or should I Line-X it to mach my flares? thanks!

That’s a very debatable question. Do you have the painted or unpainted flares? Our ‘07 Limited (due to the request of the wife) has the color matching flares and bumpers. This means that I will probably have to paint the RL bumper to match the rest of the vehicle to make her happy. Not a bad thing, as a color matching bumper, I think, looks really sharp and clean. ARBSETH painted his RL bumper cactus green to match the rest of his Jeep and it looks awesome. My grill is chrome plated, the door trim is chrome plated, the top roof rails are chrome plated, and it rides on the factory chrome clad wheels. So if I start black powder coating my bumpers it will look rather busy with the chrome accents, inferno red, and black bumpers. But to answer your question……………………Mmmmmmmmmmmmm……………I’d say if your KJ has the matching painted flares then paint would look better than the Line-X. However, if you have the unpainted flares, then the Line-X might be pretty cool, although paint or black powder coat would look good also. Keep us updated and post photos. You can’t go wrong with the RL bumper.
