I'm going on a trip to new mexico on friday and i'm in need of a new spare tire....right now i have the crappy stock tires at 225/75/r16, I'm wondering if I should get another that size or should I get a 245/70/r16 because i will change the size when i get some new rubber.?? but that may not be till next summer....so what are everyones thoughts??? oh and this has to be done tomorrow so any input is appreciated.

Either get a new set of 5 of the larger size, or go to a junkyard and find a used stock size tire for $5. As long as you only use it as the spare, and fix a flat as soon as you get it, matching the tread/brand will not matter.

Check with your local tire shop, too. I've bought used spares in fair condition for $15 and that included mounting.
