One thing, be sure never to use 4low or parttime on blacktop or any other hard surface.

If your Jeep has the full time option, use that on blacktop..

You do not need to turn the jeep off to shift into 4low. Its best to be coasting 2-3mpg with the tranny in N, then in one swift motion, pull the lever back into 4low. Same method applies for going back to 2wd.

For fulltime or parttime, any speed under 45mph, just let off the gas and pull her back.

Its best to give the parttime plenty of time to shift out of 4wd before going back onto blacktop. The 242 tcase(has the fulltime option, idk if you have it or not), tends to get stuck in parttime and needs some time to go back into 2wd..

you have part time only ,just like the wranglers same T-case
I ALWAYS go to N on the trany when shifting in to 4wd
I know that I dont need to but it makes life easy should it get stuck and it can and will
I get her rollin at aroud 3-5mph tranny in N and T-case to 4wd then trany to D
You simply do the same thing to get back into 2wd

now for the fun stuff
out on the trails 99% of the time you will be in 4lo
because 4hi will let you go to fast and that will break stuff
also you will want to put the trany into #1 and leave it there so that it does not shift from 1-2 and 2-1 all day long and over heat
hope this helps

leave that puppy on when you are off road
I have seen a STOCK JK X model go where TJ's with 4" of lift and 33's could not due to 1 wheel peel
it is not as smoth as a locker but it works
