the entire front bumper cover will come off to reveal this ~
basically, you put the upper grill back on, slap the arb onto the subframe, and presto, another happy arb owner. we didnt use anything that was on the bumper originally, except the lighting wires and such. |

Nice, thats pretty much exactly what I was looking for. What did it cost for your ARB. There are no prices on their webpage. Thanks a lot! |

So the only thing that covers that metal bumper is the plastic fascia? I need to get under there again and see whats going on now that I see your picture. I def have some bent brackets that run perpendicular to the front bumper. Thanks for the image, that will really help. |

i got a great deal on mine, $700 shipped, it was used, open box. check around to see if you can find a used one. otherwise, i think a new one pre 05 model would run $795 - $995... and yes, thats all that is covering the metal on the front is the plastic cover. |

no it doesnt bolt up there. if you look where the bumper caps are.. you take those off, and the subframe is right there. once you have the plastic cover off and the bumper caps off, you have access to all of that area. you have to get underneath the jeep and drill a couple of holes up into the subframe of the jeep. there is a subframe that the arb mounts to that you cannot see by just looking a bumper on a kj. you mount the subframe to the jeep, then mount the actual bumper shell to that. sounds complicated, but its not. |

the actual bumper shell does not touch on anything except the subframe. you tighten up the subframe, then loosely mount the shell, this is how you adjust it side to side and up or down. once you get a copy of the instructions, you'll see it.. |

If you have a hydraulic jack, use that. Installed mine on my own, with help from my friend, jack... |

On 2005 and later models, an ARB bracket sits flush across the length of the stock bumper. The bracket is bolted to both the front of the stock bumper and the inside bottom of the frame rails. The ARB bull bar is then bolted to the bracket. The bracket implements crush provisions behind the bull bar to prevent the airbags from deploying prematurely in the event of an accident. |
