Hello Everyone! As of tomorrow morning, (Monday), at 5am....the Overland Expedition Team will depart for Moab, Utah, on the first OFFICIAL team expedition. Many months of preparation, planning, meeting, building, deconstructing, stressing, laughing have taken place to make this vision and this trip possible. On Monday morning, we will depart the Greater Toronto Area and head west to Lethbridge Alberta, where will turn south abruptly and travel through the Rockies in an area known as the "Continental Divide" where the Pacific Tectonic Plate (Earths Crust) meets the North American Tectonic Plate, in other words along the fault line that creates the Rocky Mountains. We will follow this line of roads, loose surface roads, and trails all the way south through until we hit Utah. Once in Utah we will spend a few days in Arches National Park, then head to Canyon Lands National park and ride the White Rim, which will take approximately 3 days to complete. Then we set our sights north-ward and travel through the U.S. in a north-easterly direction until Canada and Toronto. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have supported us in this adventure. We would also like to say "We told you so" to all those that thought we couldnt do it and didnt beleive in our quest. This trip will solidify our foundation for the 2008 Great North Crossing, and will serve as our "Shakeout" run. Special thanks to: Euroline Performance for providing us with garage and mechanical space. JPFreek Magazine for the future publications of our journeys Design Studio Photography for providing photographic equipment and photo-journalist coverage during the trip. The Sick Kids Foundation for believing in our mission and being the foundation of choice and support for this and our future operations. We will try and keep live updates online along with pictures. See you in the near future!! |

LOST provided myself and Big D, and 2006KJSPORT with enough information on Libertys and all things Jeep to last a life-time!! So thanks to LOST for this amazing community of great people!!! Getting time off work is easy.....just beg and whine alot until they get so annoyed with you that they tell to go away......and it doesnt hurt being employed by a Municipal government, nice vac-a packages, and being self employed as a photographer..... So here the latest update..... The 2006 Renegade is packed, equipped and ready to roll (pictures to comes shortly) we have enough tools on board to drop a transmission, and enough equipment on board to be completely self sustaining. Its 1:14 am here....and we depart at 5am..... Thanks for all the great words and support......I truely belive that out of every forum (including my own) that I am a member of, this has been the best, most active, interesting, and informative one, with a great member set as well. We have a Lap-top computer mounted in the Liberty, that is connected to our GPS and have sat-com capabilities......so hopefully we can maintain a live update feed, with images and video and written word. More to come!!!! |

UPDATE! Hey guys! We just arrived in Moab Utah about 10 minutes ago and have got set up at the local Motel 6 for tonight and tomorrow night......then off to White Rim in Canyon Lands N.P on Monday. Its 1230 in the afternoon here, and 330 in the afternoon in Toronto... Temperature is about 45 degrees C in the sun.....and about 20 in the shade, of which there is VERY little.....not many trees to speak of except for ones planted by property owners. It is hot but there is no humidity.....so its very dry. Many people I know would burn very quickly in this climate. We left Lethbridge Alberta yesterday morning, and rove all day and most of the night through Montana and Idaho. We took our time through Montana because we hit Glacier National Park....and that was amazing to see the high peaks and snow capped mountains, and Ice Blue Glacial Lakes.....just breath taking. So today, we are settling in and doing some last minute preps for White Rim.....then heading out to Arches National Park to do a little sight seeing this afternoon and for the day tomorrow! The ride has been long but for everything we have seen and the things we done, it has been incredibly worth the long hours on the road.....sometimes up to 19 hours!!! We'll have more pictures to come.....from Arches N.P. mostly and maybe a few teasers from Glacier. Thanks for your support and interest!! |

Do the 1.5 mile ( one way) delicate arch hike. That is the arch that you see in all the photos and the Utah license plates. Enjoy! |
