I have been installing my recently purchased mopar skid plates. I took a medical scale and weighed them out of curiosity.
-Tank skid: 26 lbs.
-Transfer case skid : 11 lbs.
-Transmission skid: 19 lbs.
- Engine skid (older $50.00)- 17 lbs.

I wonder how these weights compare to the after market brands?

They're a whole lot lighter than aftermarket brands. Mopar skid plates are stamped (as opposed to using angle iron), which adds strength and saves weight. However, they're also thin and don't offer as much armor as some of the aftermarket skid plates. They've served me well though.
