That is pretty standard shifting on the Liberty... Very truck like.

If it bothers you some take your Jeep to the dealer and have them verify no problems with the transmission.

Yea mine does it too. I think everyones does. Does it worse if you start to slow down (back off on the throttle) right as you get to the speed it wants to shift. It will still shift but it gets a little confused. Its prob noticed more from 1 to 2 because of the torque multiplication im guessing. Have the tranny reflashed by a jeep dealer and thats pretty much all you can do....

Cheers!

Ive noticed if you keep the rpms over 2k while its shifting from 1-2 it wont do that.

Exactly, the tranny actually appreciates a little faster acceleration. The slower you go the harder the first shift is.

Yup. No need to be suttle with the Liberty. the Transmission controller just finds the proper gear and "BAM!" that's all she wrote... Shoot we probably don't even need the clutches in there....

Just wait till you get the speeding down "SLAM" that was described. It feels like you just ran over a moped or something.

Thats what everybody is here for. You'll see after you get a bunch of posts and knowledge of your KJ that you will want to start to "give back" to others who are in need of help by answering more questions than you ask. Its a beautiful thing... Take care, Josh
