Unfortunately I used a cleaner on it that was a little stronger than I thought and it melted some of the texture away. It /almost/ looks like this piece comes apart from the rest of the door panel but when I tried it was fighting me. Does this thing come off seperately? Thanks, Bill |

What sort of 'cleaner' did you use? That must of been one heck of a dirty Jeep to use heavy duty cleaner! |

Should we ask how you got permanent marker on your door handle? Well, I guess I just asked. |

I used brake clean On smoother surfaces there is a trick to removing permanent marker that at first blush doesn't seem to make sense. Over-wright the permanent marker in small pieces with "permanent marker" and then vigorously rub it off with a clean cloth, paper towel or tissue. I learned this trick from son's football coach when he used the wrong marker on his handheld white board during a game. I cleaned it up for him in about 10 minutes while he coached. He had a clean board come half time. The permanent marker ink acts as its own solvent before drying. |

Actually, if you go over a permanent marker with a dry-erase marker, it will easily wipe off a white board or similar surface in seconds. No vigorous rubbing required. I know because my Mom was a math teacher. |

If that works it is even a better solution. |

Looks like I learned something today! So I guess there's no insight on whether this piece is apart of the door panel eh |

If you take the door panel off, you will notice on the backside that all the panel pieces are held together with a plastic weld. The pieces all fit together like a puzzle that kind of snap together. Those snaps are then melted and it's what keep everything together. I suppose you could melt the "welds" but putting it together might be a little harder. |
