I got one of these on eBay really cheap. Anyone ever use one before?

I have an Amsoil EA air filter cone, but just got a K&N wrap that was the right size.

Really not necessary on the Amsoil Ea series air filters. They need those on the K&N to keep it from loading up and to help it actually filter.

This is the DryFilter as opposed to the normal PreFilter. It's coated with silicon to keep water from getting through it into the filter.

Probably not a bad idea. More so if you are offroad in really dust conditions, it will keep the filter cleaner.

Idk if it would help if you dipped the front end under water though.

And you will loose everything you gained by adding a K&N,those covers are nice but are very restrictive,more restrictive then and filter(even ones that are mostly packed with mud).They where originally made to protect the oiled filters before races and for car shows,then the drivers would take them off for the race so they started off with a clean filter.

See, I'd be doing it the exact opposite. I put it on today to make sure it fits and snap a pic, but took it off when I got home. I'd only use the thing when I was off-roading to keep heavy mud and moisture from getting to the filter. Not for DD

With all the dust in your engine compartment, I think it is a good idea. I used one on my 2002 when at Big Bend National Park. Kept dust out of the filter.
