I like the idea of the lifetime powertrain warranty. But I have to wonder if it covers all of the electrical parts that go along with it? Seems like a great marketing tool to get more people out of older chrysler products and into some new ones. |

O.K so my 2006 would have the extended warranty now but since it is a diesel I get screwed.NEVERMIND, I just read the part about delivery after July 07. That is so stupid....I really want to trade this off for a wrangler anyway so I can actually clear some 33's. I have been bit by the wheeling bug. I love my KJ but I don't think I want to wait or deal with any of the new POSSIBLE lift options for this thing. |

Ya know.......Here are my thoughts on a lifetime warranty.I'm 48,and I've bought alot of things in my lifetime, but one thing I've learned is that a Lifetime of anything you purchase, depends on what you buy.For windows, the normal life expectancy is 7 years...VCR 3 years, ect.A lifetime warranty simply means that they will only cover it for it's life's expectancy.....otherwise they would call it a "Forever" warranty. And if they are going to warrant the vehicle for my lfetime, then I'll probably just have to jump on the bandwagon too. First line says it all. Its for the first owner, so how many people keep their vehicles over 2 or 3 years not many at all. How many lease vehicles a lot, they get turned in and the next person , the second owner will not be covered. Now some like me keep a vehicle until it is closer to 275000/ 300000 miles and several years old, I may get some good out of it but .....still dont trust them. Tom |

Tom Yes thats what they are betting on, few people will keep a car or truck "forever". The interesting part is the clause about bringing the vehicle in for inspection every 5 years for a "free" inspection. This is where they try to sell you wear and tear items like belts, hoses, etc. I see that the warranty does include timing belts and chains. If you are the type to drive a car forever it could be a great deal. If you dump them every 100k or less it doesn't really do a thing for you. This is great deal if you are going to get one of the first new hemi Challengers and plan to keep it untill its a collectible. Ahh but that doesn't fit in with my early retirement plans , need to conserve the cash. |
