Post subject:  any ideas?

My KJ has stalled out while coming to a stop and going around corners several times lately. It happens while slowing down to almost a stop, push in the clutch, and it just dies. Very weird. A few times i was rolling fast enough just to "pop" the clutch and keep going, but others I had to restart the Jeep. No check engine or codes. When I restart the Jeep idles fine.

Any ideas would be great.

I have a similar issue but it doesn't happen often nor does it cause me to stall... but my jeep appears to normally idle around ~750 but sometimes when I push the clutch in the idle drops to ~450 for a few seconds then it comes right up. I usually notice it during one of the first few stops I make before the engine heats up fully...

Could be a dirty throttle body or IAC sensor..

Cleaning the throttle bore will make a vast improvment, and to agree totaly with jeepjeepster,I'm bettin' on the "Idle Air Control"being dirty or a bad sensor.  Also...don't forget to look for vacum leaks.

The IAC is in the throttle body, use some seafoam to clean the TB,suck it through a vacum line that feeds into the TB.

Can you give me a little more of a description of how I suck the seafoam through the vacuum line? A pic of the line would be helpfull. Sorry, have not done any work like this before.

Jim, just move back to Denver and all will be okay. Your KJ is just mad at you for leaving.

Could it be a vacum leak somewhere? I had an old Jeep Wagoneer that used to do that and I had to replace break booster, it was something to do with vacum leak. Its been too long ago and I am not sure but thats just an idea.

I had the same issue in a manual XJ, turned out to be a loose MAP sensor.

Post subject:  update...

Ran a can of Seafoam through the gas tank and no more stalling issues. I guess this stuff is not just hype. I will also do the vacume line thingy before I change my oil next time.

Pretty much any autoparts store should carry SeaFoam.
