Post subject:  Flashing fogs

So I have a problem thats been getting worse and worse.
When I turn my headlights on, then switch on the stock fog lights they do one of 3 things. . .

1. come on and operate normally

2. do NOT come on at all, then come on and turn on and off at will.

3. Come on and flash on and off at randow times.

It never seems to get better or worse.

any ideas whats going on?

Sounds like a intermittent short somewhere. Check for loose/broken wiring and connections (it's a big job, but it's a place to start).

From what I have read and experienced myself, the multifunction switch (left stalk) is not a very robust part. I know if I have my fogs and headlights on that my lights flash at random times. It blinks all my dash lights, the EVIC, and the headlights. Kind of annoying but I generally dont drive with all those on so its not a big deal to me yet.....

My 07 does this too. Next oil change, this will be yet another warranty-fixed item.

If in a month or two you don't figure it out, PM me and I'll let you know what the dealer does to mine.

my fogs ('05) flash sometimes when the r/h turn-signal clicks off. I'm guessing it is a stalk problem.

check your fuses, you might have a broken filament in there and it might be bouncing around or deflecting with heat. I had a similar problem with my Bronco, but in that case is was the circuit breaker going bad in the switch...totally different from the KJ, but same idea.
