I wonder how many of those Patriot/Compass sales are cannibalizing the Caliber though? Never a great idea for one entity to have cars in similar markets competing against each other, ie the Nitro competing with the Liberty. |

Everyone does it. Look at the Tribute/Escape/Whatever Lincoln and Merc call it. Same is true for GM. Toyota/Lexus, on and on and on. |

Some people appreceiate the Jeep name plate on the Compass more than the Dodge nameplate on the Caliber. It makes sense that both of the MK products would be selling rather well. Considering the economy, price of gas, and utility offered by both vehicles. Of course Chrysler / Jeep got lucky with the market timing but at least they are a player in the small car segment again. Say goodbye to the Neon and Hello to the Compass! (Or Patriot) |
