Post subject:  Sand mats

I 've been looking around for some sand mats because I tend to veer offroad at the drop of a hat and have had a few tense moments in the local construction sites. Everything I saw was too expensive till I came across these:

OK, just joking!

Actually I came across these:

Which are pretty cool but pricey at $150 for the pr.
And they look like they are kinda heavy and I'd be worried about those bolts tearing up the inside of the car when stored.

THEN, I came across these:

I sent for a price list and they have a single 11" x 8' x 1/2" mat for $60. (Black color ones are only $55) But there's a $25 shipping fee.

However, take one of these mats, cut it in half and you have 2 individual, 4 foot long mats for $85. Still about half the price of anything I've seen. I think 11" wide should be wide enough for our tires. :?:

If shipping an 8 foot length is a problem, for the same price they make a 22.5" x 4 foot long mat. Cut this one down the center of the length of the 22.5 inch side and the result would still be 2 mats 11" x 4 feet long for $80.

I'd cut them down to the length of the inside of my roof basket (about 38") and store them in there. They'd serve as a basket floor and be available when I needed em.
