Post subject:  Fair price to pay for Moabs and MTR's?

I have been looking around at sets of 5 Moab wheels and MTR tires with anywhere from 250-3500 miles on them. What would be an average price for a set like these that are in very good condition? I need prices that would be fair for both the buyer and the seller. Thanks for your help.

Since shipping these things will cost almost as much as the tires - location is signifcant.

I ended up paying 800 for 5 wheels and tires, - however some folks in California can regularly find them for 1/2 that, and I think Oz ltd was paying that much to ship wheels to Australia.

Even in Texas they were cheaper and more available in the Dallas area - than around Austin.

check craigslist for your area and 'close enough to drive' large cities.
and join the ROF - Rubicon owners forum - registration required but it's free -

Got mine for free! Yay!!! I should thank my wife, she volunteered to babysit some cats for a couple going on vacation, who had just bought new wheels/tires for their rubicon. As a payment, he gave me his 5 mtr's with Moabs

I just bought a set of Moabs and tires for a very resonable price, found them on ROF, (Rubicon Owners Forum) . Shipping is the biggest thing as someone else said, I drove 100 miles one way to get mine. I have seen wheels for as low 250 for 4 to 1200 for 5 with tires. Depends on condition also, one of mine is scratched some from playing in the mud but it will be the spare

I would think finding them as a set will be high maybe $500-$1000+ would be fair
now as far as just tires or just rims it will depend on cond.
I got a sweet deal and posted it up in case other's wanted in but no one spoke up
$50 a tire for MTR's in varing cond. from 0-10,000 miles
I can ask my guy if he still has some but only if you are SERIOUS
he does not have rims but loads of tires
he may have 2 or more sets of 5 out behind his shop
I took all the spares to get a like new set of 4 with a used ~5k spare

let me know via PM

Fouros, I bet you cant wait for them to come in and to get those things on. They completly change the looks of the Liberty! I had mine in the garage all of maybe 5 minutes and was ripping the old wheels/tires off, then of course had to go for a drive !

$700 to $800 if they are on the lesser miles is a good price
usually ROF forum you can find from $1200 down but there are always people wanting to get out of those quick.
Now - REMEMBER..... the newer Wranglers JKs do not have the same bolt pattern as the older models so MOAB wheels from a JK are no good for KJs anymore - that would drive the prices up....

Yeah. I have noticed, especially on ebay, that the JK Rubicon wheels are going pretty cheap. However, it seems like the '06 and earlier Moabs are going up in price as they are not as readily available.
