Why hasn't anyone designed a Body Lift for the Liberty? I don't see where it would be any different than any other vehicle. |

Tony, The older CJ's had frames that you could seperate the body from. Newer jeeps, most if not all of them are UniBody and use frame rails and they can not be seperated, only suspension lifts. Body lifts were more cosmetic anyway. If you didn't do anything for the axel clearence and making sure your diffs could clear an obstacle, you were screwed. |

TJ and as far as I know JK's have frames other than thoes they are all unibody look at the XJ it was a unibody from day 1 Besides that body lifts are a BAD idea over 1" any way over time they put stress on the tub and cause it to rip away from the mounts |

Technically you could do a parital (body)lift. Not exacltly a body lift but a lift or lowering of the front subframe as well as the rear axel and the front(rear axel) mouting points. So, yes it's not a body lift per say but it is doing exactly the same thing; lowering the suspension components a little further than allowed with just a suspension lift. As for whether it would make sense. Probably not just from the shear cost, but then again they said an SFA would not work on a KJ but there are a few individuals here to show how well it works. |
