I done a quick search on "Kell Blue Book".In your year with 35,000 miles, and a 2.4 turbo diesel and standard equiptment, the private party sell price in "Excellent" condition was 15,190.Don't sound right, but you loose 3,000 the day you drive em' off the lot.And what most don't realize is that you actually have to deduct for Diesel, but when you buy one I think they cost more. Not to fair is it? Why don't you try the "Kelly Blue Book" website and do a proper listing and see what results you get.

KBB thinks we have a 2.4 L diesel? Shows how much they know.

Is'nt that what the CRD is?
Oh...ok,I see the typo with the 2.4 instead of the 2.8.Despite the typo......alot of people rely on the blue book for leverage making it hard for the seller to get their asking price. And when most people have to call the bank for a loan, they will usually only loan what "Blue Book" value is wheather it's "Kelly's" or not.It sucks....but it's reality.

A friend of mine bought a base '06 Limited in OR with around 19K on the clock last week from a dealer. The sticker was over 27K. they made him a pretty good deal on his trade though.

CRD sports in Atlanta are going for 19-22K. I just bought my 06 with 6500 miles for 19950. They sell within a few days here.

Its worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it, not a penny more or less. 8)

That new warranty is gonna put a hex on used chrysler products.

I wouldn't trust Red book, blue book, plaid book... They are published by the auto retailing industry to maximize thier profits. They say what the dealers want them to say.

Check out www.edmunds.com for an accurate price. Don't take the links that go to auto trader, thats another site run by auto retailers, stay on the edmunds site to get an accurate price.

I don't mean to sound like a know it all, but I do know a little. Used vehicles ARE only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. It all depends on who your trying to sell your CRD to. A fair dealer should give you wholesale/trade-in value or somewhere there abouts. A private individual i.e., your neighbor, someone off the street, someone from the paper or autotrader (NOT run by the automotive industry) should give you private party value (always more than wholesale/trade-in value). Keep in mind banks are more stringent and often loan less to customers wanting to buy vehicles private party, making it harder to sell expensive or unique vehicles on the street.

As far as online resources i.e., kbb.com or edmunds or nada....KBB is usually the closest and lets you choose between retail, private party, and trade in values. Their method for depreciating a car over time based off the MSRP of the vehicle new and adding or subtracting for mileage is not always completely accurate, but generally speaking, trade-in condition between Good and Fair condition (regardless of how nice YOU THINK your car is) is usually a good ballpark. Edmunds and NADA are traditionally much higher than KBB and not accurate in my personal opinion. Again, I have some experience with the subject matter.

That being said, your asking price of $23k sounds like a bit much, but you may sell it for that IF someone is willing (and able) to give you that much for it.

Of course, there are A LOT more details that go into valuing a vehicle. But, I've said enough. Hope this helps!!!

People should realize that with 39k, that engine might just start to be getting broken in. Diesels run and run and run. I sure hope you get top $ as I am sure who ever buys it will be getting a super vehicle. AND btw, the lifetime warranty DOES NOT include diesels. So, this should HELP you...
Why do you want to sell anyway?
Good luck....maybe pick up a 4 dr. unlimited jk...awesome.... :o

Ive already had my fix of wranglers lol like 7 of them during the past few years. But it wouldnt suprise me if i purchase a JK. I bought so many wranglers because i came out on every one of them. Made money 94 Sahara after having 3 years, made money 98 11k mile wrangler sport. I really havent lost any money buying jeeps? Of course i take unreal care of them, never abuse them, put some mods in.

The secret to getting close to what you want for your CRD is to sell it to somebody who KNOWS deisels. MOST people don't understand the mechanical advatages of a CRD and thus are ignorant to the value. That is why the KBB or what ever is under priced. Find somebody who works and uses deisel vehichles for a living and they will see the value.

What part of the country are you in?

I know a guy who wants a CRD with manual tranny.

Might be interested in yours

Typically a vehicle is only worth what a lender says it's worth. If a buyer has extra cash to through at the purchase then that price can be inflated. Currently lenders will max out at about 18k on a 2005 CRD. I'm sure it's a little higher for the 2006. I am sure lenders are going to be even more strict about this number since the lending market crunch over the past few weeks.

I have to agree with WoodysKJ. I spent 3 months looking for a CRD that had everything that I wanted (lift, skids and nice rims and rubber for me, leather, tinted windows, nice sound system for the wife  ) The one I found was LOADED '06 Limited 24k miles on it, incredibly well maintained (full documentation from the day he signed the papers to the day he sold it to me). I flew over 400 miles to look at it and drove it home. I paid $24600 for it and never looked back. This was above Edmunds price and right at KBB highest price. If you are patient, you will get what you want for it. (BTW I searched Autotrader and Ebay motors daily for new listings and wound up buying on the latter). Hope this helps from someone that is newly on the other end of the deal.

Post subject:  Yes this is kinda what ive learned selling cars

Everyone thinks book value has the last say seems it always works out for the dealers. I had a 97 sport i bought for $8200 like in 2000 the book value was $15,500 lol id never pay that much for the junk. Then ive had other like brand new ones ive sold 5k over book value.
