Perhaps I should post this into the fab / tech section, not sure. As I'm only at thinking stage I thought I would see if anyone has done this. I've been thinking how to gain clearence on the back while keeping the Mopar tow hitch. If you were to cut either side of the outer edge of the cross bar, you could flip it & re-weld it back & gain clearence back up to the base of the stock bumper. You'd need to cut a hole for the plastic & the metap behind it. Sounds like a good idea but may not be, due to load ratings. I'm not able to do this sort of work or know much about it but I'd think you could reenforce your new join to give it back the strength if not more. Any thoughts. |

Dont know about there but here I know of some places that make the hitch to your specs, so they could do it, or find any good welder, of course as soon as you cut/reweld etc there goes the tow rating that the mfg. has set |
