For a quality job, I would expect to pay what the option costs from the factory. I think you can get by cheaply, but I wouldn't count on it being a product that has the fit and finish or lasting power that the factory roof has. I don't have any suggestions for you, but I would not suggest you try to get it done on the cheap. |

Mine is factory. I like it but if i didn't have one i wouldn't install one just because i wouldn't trust anyone cutting a hole in my roof. |

i would try to find shops in your area that is nationwide and has a lifetime guarantee. good place to start is your dealer. sometimes they send cars off to a specialty shop to have the interior done in a custom leather, put sunroofs in, all sorts of stuff for the customer. |

I had mine installed by the dealership before I took it home. They included it in the financing. It was an extra 1000 but I think well worth it. It is larger than the factory one, one push operation(you don't have to hold it down until it gets to where you want it), and it automatically closes when you turn off the car. It's backed buy a lifetimetime warrenty through the dealership and the contracted company who installed it on all parts and guaranteed never to leak. If you find the right dealership or installer those are some things you might want to ask about. |

If you have a Ziebart near you, they are fairly reliable. A friend of mine had a sunroof installed there and I believe they warranty it for life. It never leaked by the way. I don't think the prices were all that bad either. |

http://www.classicsofttrim.com/ These guys make and install the best...I liked (Alex's) better than the factory roof in mine. The factory roof was great but he had more control options. This is the real sliding electronic roof |

while on this topic...does anyone else find the factory wind deflector that lifts up while the sunroof is retracting quite a bit louder than if you hold it down by hand? give it a try while driving at highways speeds...it goes from very loud (with it sticking up) to almost zero noise and quite quiet if you reach up and simply hold it in the down position....are these easily removed, and am I looking at future problems without it? Or is it simply an ill-designed wind deflector that makes alot of noise? I can live with it, but when you push it down while driving, it really is a HUGE difference to when its upright. The deflector doesn't serve any other purpose does it? |

I have been warned away from aftermarket sunroof installations by a Honda dealership mechanic. I asked the dealership service department a referral for a sunroof for my wife’s Accord. He said (speaking in strict confidence) that when the factory installs a sunroof they run drainage tubes down the b-pillars so that water doesn’t leak into the cabin when the sunroof gaskets begin to leak (after 3-5 years). The factory installed sunroof on my Liberty appears to have these drainage ducts. Aftermarket installs apparently don’t do this. They seal the skylight as tight as they can and call it good. Eventually it will leak and the upholstery will pay the price. |
