I have the 6 disc in dash change on my '03 liberty. One day while switching CDs I could hear the player trying over and over again to switch and it finally came up with "CD ERROR". Ever since then now it just acts like the CD player isn't there at all although I can occasionally hear the motor trying to do something. It doesn't show "CD ERROR" anymore either. I've tried pull the battery to see if the head unit will reset and it won't. I know it's a common problem. I'm curious if anyone has sucessfully fixed it themselves. My Liberty is out of warranty so I can only imagine what the dealer is going to want to fix it. |

Dealers change entirely to much these days |

I had two that did that. When the second one did it, the Jeep was out or warranty so I just bought an Alpine. Makes life easier with my ipod anyway. It seems like the guys in charge of the ball joints did the radios too...... |

I was thinking about jamming a PBJ sammich into my CD player so I could substantiate getting an aftermarket unit. CaKJFreedom wrote: It seems like the guys in charge of the ball joints did the radios too......

Well I dove it and tore it apart today. I got all the CDs out but the problem was a little plastic peice in the spindle had broken. It's a shame it's shot for what looks like about a $0.20 part. |
