From time to time, my interior lights will come on in the Jeep, then go off. Would this be due to a door or the glass hatch not being fully closed? It doesn't say "open door", etc. on my information center. I thought also maybe it could be the dial on my light control stick, where you can turn on the interior lights by rotating the dial, as if maybe it was rotated in between off and on. I have had my Jeep for 4 months since buying it used, and the previous owner, who is a friend of mine, said is was likely a door or gate that was not totally shut, and the interior light may flash on and off when the door jiggled or when you hit a bump. It has only happend maybe 3 or 4 times only once each time. It happened today, so I got out and shut all the doors and gate again, and it didn't come on/off again. Just wondering if I should be concerned or not. Having kids, the doors don't always get shut tight. Thanks for the help!!

It's like you call it "dial on the light control stick" I have the same problem I narrowed it down to the switch. I"m currently looking for one. My best bet is a junk yard.

The 2002 I had did the same thing. The dealer had to replace one of the BIG wire harness under the hood. It had started to melt!! You might want to take a real good look.

I would like more info on what wiring harness this is, etc. so I can have someone check it out. Or, could it be the turn signal lever or wiring that leads to it. Is there a name for the harness or for the actual problem, so a mechanic or the dealer would understand it?

Thanks
