I just traded my 2002 Libby Limited for a 2008 patriot. Not a bad little wagon, but I miss my Libby. Less trips to the gas pump though. I still have my wifes 2003 Liberty Limited. |

It's just a two wheel drive. I bought it for work {MPGs}. So far I love it, but i've only had it two days. Still have my wifes KJ for wheelin'. |

I hope you didn't trade a pre-lowered KJ for it. I really think those will be a collector's item, eventually. |

No worse than lifting the suspension of a pre-lowered KJ. It'll be one of those oddball things that can be difficult to find but don't necessarily add to the value of it, like the Ford highboy pickups |

Congrats! Sounds like a good balance between the two Jeep vehicles. |

The compass sure isn't selling well around here for as long as they have been out. You hardly ever see one on the road, however, I've allready seen quite a few patroits. I think jeep missed thier target group with the compass. It's not sporty enough for the young tunner crowd and not tough enough for us. If they built to look like the concept it would sell better I believe, the concept looked great. The frontend on the compass is just too bulky looking. I believe the patroit will be the big seller between the 2, sporty enough for younger folks and tough enough for us for light wheeling. The poor compass is in bad need of a redesign allready. I did read a test on the new liberty, it has better articulation and departure angles than ours, plus more room. However, I still like the looks of mine better and it's size, but think the new one will sell verywell. |

I like the Patriot. It seems like a nice car and looks good. Everyone just has to realize what segment its in and not compare it to truck-based 4x4s! However, I hate the Compass more then I've hated a vehicle in quite a while. Its just fugly |

It sure will, from the test I've read, it's quite capable and can handle alot of off/roading chores. I think they have a hit with this one as it will perform off/road when called on. Just keep in mind that it has it's limitations, it's not a boulder crawler, but is happy on the trails. |

The "trail rated" version of the Patriot has only one problem that I know of for off-roading: If you stop on a decent incline, the CVT can't get you moving again because the gearing isn't low enough I think it's been corrected via a flash retune of the transmisison controller already but otherwise it's a pretty cabable little Jeep. |

I wouldn't have bought another Jeep that's not 4x4. Your choice, your money, I hope you like it. How much did you shell out? |

Only one question.... WHY!?!?!? I looked at the patriot when i was haggling over my 07 limited KJ, and i CAN NOT and still DO NOT see the attraction. If it is mpg's you were worried, why not get a civic? WHY!?!?!?!?! |

My point, exactly, or something else with more power that gets same mpg, if not better. |

Because it's still a Jeep. It's still an American product and it looks pretty cool. |

well, the patriot has good cargo space and some nice features that go along with that. theres more utility there then a civic. i see it as a compromise between having an SUV and a car. you get pretty decent MPG and also utility. if you're not looking to offroad in it a lot it makes more sense then buying a liberty, honestly. what do you get in a liberty that you dont get in a patriot that has lower cost and higher MPG? |
