Well the dealership called me today to see if i wanted to sell my liberty for an 07. Apparently some students are trying to find one but an older one for cheaper. I of course said hell no, i love my renegade, i aint downgrading to a sport model 07. So then they asked my mom if she wanted to trade in her loaded 02 intrepid R/T model. she thought about it but didnt really want to, she just go her car paid off and they would never give her what she wanted. She bought her 02 brand new for almost 40 grand after taxes, this is the LOADED R/T modell, very rare down here, 17 inch viper mags, high end motor, everything. She likes liberty and is thinkin of gettin one for her next vehicle but not now unless they give her a great deal. What do you think would be a good deal for an 02 loaded intrepid R/T for a slightly used 07 sport liberty? BTW her 02 intrepid only has 27,000 miles on it. |

Dealerships do these bait calls, because they know you have what they want. They already have buyers, and will pay you nothing for your trade. Do not buy a new car just because the dealer calls you, trust me they initated contact, so they will ensure the deal to be had is theirs not yours. |

That is when you give them your offer and if they decline, oh well. Find another patsy. |

yea she did that once, a month ago they called, a diff dealer, the one she got her from and they said they had someone that wanted to buy it. She said, i wont go any lower then 25 grand for it. He said "ok thank you bye" lol. This time we didnt even ask because she was caught off guard by that question and she wants a liberty for her next car so she kind of thought about it and told them to get back to her in a few days. They are letting some of the 07's go for low to mid 20's if she could get alteast 20k for her car, she may go for it lol. |

I got my '07 Sport at the end of last July for a steal of a price. It was the advertised price leader on the lot. I know that around here they are willing to work with people to get rid of their inventory of KJs in order to fill it with Patriots, Compasses, and KKs. The Patriots are only lasting 3 doys on the lot on average. Maybe she will have some bargaining power as it isn't very often YOU have what THEY want. Just a thought. |

I have a dealer still calling me on an old Acura I had five years ago, apparently there is someone looking for one of those too if I trade up to a newer one. LOL |

THEY DO NOT HAVE BUYERS for your cars. It is a come on. Thye want to hold a note on the new car you trade urs in for and them wholsale your old one for more cash. It is a sales tool to get you into the dealership. Remeber. THEY DO NOT HAVE another buyre for your car. In many states they have "NO CALL LISTS" Ky is one of them. The big loop hole is "If you have had prior buiness dealings with that buisness, then they can call you anytime." Since you purchased a car from them before they use the prior dealings as the legal loop hole to call you and sucker you into the show room. Do what you can to get a good deal from them, but remeber, they ALWAYS MAKE MONEY!!!!! |

Dealerships in Canada are all in on a network. They can call other dealerships and bring in what they want at wholesale (just like they would give your mom for her vehicle), then mark up the price of the vehicle you wanted to buy. I just went through this when my g/f bought her Honda civic. When my buddy was selling his libby for a Fit (I know WTF!?), the Honda dealership was pressuring him to upgrade his selected Fit to a sport model when they didn't have the model he originally wanted. The catch was that the Dodge dealership contacted Honda and wanted his Libby when he traded it in to Honda because they could have sold it the same day. He didn't want to spend the extra cash on a sport model and waited a month for Honda to get the model he wanted in. I bought his Libby a week later. And since I knew what he paid for it, I was able to get it for $500 over wholesale If they really want an old libby, tell them to go through their network. It's not as if the libby's are rare! N |

In my part of Eastern Canada, you don't see a lot of used Liberty's for sale. Just having mine for 4months, I assume that most owners hold on to them, because of their quality and love of the Jeeps. I know I won't be selling mine for quite a while. |
