Post subject:  PIAA headlights

anyone else use piaa headlight bulbs?

I just got a free pair from work today for the jeep so i put them in, a fair bit brighter then the factory ones.

These are the ones i have:

I work in the defective department at lordco and half of the headlights are perfectly fine when we get them back but we scrap the headlights once the rep comes in and ok's it. So i just search for what type i needed and grab a few good ones. Worth $100+

i can grab a pair for someone local, aint shipping these out though, being as i cant garuntee they will work or work for awhile, they were brought in as defective, but i used these piaa bulbs in my old beretta for over a year, one defective pair and never had a problem. I just finished dumping a box full of piaa lights so it be a week or two before i get some more 9007 lights.

But i think there are a few guys here local, i can grab them a set, free. If they want, they can grab a few sets and ship them off to other lost members. I know how to check to see if they are burnt out or not, so i can see what bulbs are good and can generally see how much they were used by the condition inside the bulb.

Post subject:  I'm Jealous

OK now I'm Jealous. Last year when I traded my DEAD DOG '95 DAKOTA 4x4, one of the first thing I pulled was my PIAA bulbs . But unfortunately, the Dakota took 9004 and the Liberty used 9007. I gave the 9004 to a neighbor and went to the nearest 4Wheel Shop and got the correct PIAA's. No regrets have used them for years, additionally some off road lights will attract the local law enforcement agency. But the PIAA's are in the original location and nobody knows but you. Yes they are pricy but I have used them for many years, mainley due to the stock placement. During a dark snowy night in a Colorado Blizzard, you will love them. But as previously stated the local Smokeys will not notice, cause they are placed in stock locations, so it's harder tom differentiate. Congratulations they are SWEET

I had them, lasted about a year. PIAA would not replace them under warranty either. I paid $90 shipped for them. For that price they should last a little longer. Went back to stock.

I wouldn't mind coming up there to get a pair. I bought some off ebay for $30. At that price I knew they would be suspect, and I was right. They lasted about 6 months. I dont blame the bulbs though, I just put too much faith in the good deal I was getting.

Any chance you get the 525 plasma ion lamps there too?

Do they actually put out a white light, or do they have a blue tint to them? I have troubles seeing some shades of blue thus some brighter bulbs are actually worse than standards for me.

Also, I saw a few different kinds of PIAA's at Princess Auto for $9.99. All had the blue tint on the bulb so I didn't grab any.

the bulb does have a blue tint but when your driving you dont see it. The bulbs have to have a really dark blue tint to see it while driving.

I wouldn't swap out the stock lamps unless one blows , or unless I can get xeons installed.

the stock headlights on the libertys suck IMO. Going froma beretta with piaa extreme whites to the stock liberty lights was brutal. These lights are much better
