And upon what, pray tell, are these alleged "results" based???

(And how long have you been an Amsoil dealer? This crap of people pumping Amsoil has been run into the ground just about as badly as Amway and Tupperware.)

Can you honestly say that you've not noticed how many people on this forum (and just about all other automotive forums) are shills for Amsoil? I'm not saying that Amsoil doesn't have some fairly decent products, but their dealers are so brain-washed that they're almost like members of a cult (ala Amway and Tupperware dealers). Try telling one of them that you're not interested in their products, and you go right to the top of their s... list. (Come to think of it, they're also pretty similar to Jehova's Witnesses.)

If you don't like Amsoils marketing that is one thing. I am a dealer and not super fond of the MLM style either but that does not change the fact that Amsoil continues to engineer some of the best full synthetic lubricants on the market and challenge the other brands AND they publish the results for all to see. Do you think they would get away with naming other brands failures or lack of performance if they were not telling the whole story? Did you ever notice that the other brands will say they are "best" or "better" but they never name who they are better than?
I don't argue about it any more, I welcome anyone to find a better product and use it if they feel it is what they want or need. I really could care less what oil products people use.

FWIW, I have been an Amsoil dealer for a little over a year and a half now and a user of their products off and on for quite a while longer. And if you really think I am only in it for the money you can ask my customers about the pricing they get. No retail profit here, just the best deals I can give to my customers. The commisions I earn are enough to pay for my costs and product to put into my vehicles AND allow me to give back during LOST events (and other Jeep related events) in the form of donations of product to raise money for other events and various off road charities.

However, I too would like to know what the original poster is talking about. :?

Kind of like being a missionary, huh? Or like the commercials for "Dave's Gun" which used to run on Indianapolis TV stations: "I don't want to make money, friends - I just luuuuuuv to sell guns!"

I find the marketing issue funny. I see other brand oils making claims that they don't back up w/ facts or they don't name names. I see them hype by millions od dollars in advertising and sponsoring of various racing events. Everyone in their products distribution channels make money on the product so how different is that really from a MLM? The people on top make the most and the folks on the bottom slinging the stuff make less.

It is funny too that the big oil companies answer to the shareholders and not to their distributors and customers. They have the same opportunity to make better products yet they create profitable ones instead. They also have the opportunity to challenge other products on the market and Show that theirs is Best and prove it w/ recorded results and naming of names. So how come they don't?

Funny.

I always wondered if there was a connection between "AM"soil and "AM"way. Anyone know if there is?

None at all. the AMS in Amsoil comes from the founders last name which is Amatuzio. (Al Amatuzio) some of the original packaging for Amsoil products actually said AMZOIL and I actually wish they still did to avoid any confusion w/ amway.
