I've been wondering what the big deal is myself, I don't get why they are so popular.

i think its just the look of them over the wheel offerings for the kj from the factory

16x8 aluminum wheel w/ good back space that usually can be found for a reasonable price w/ 245/75-16 MT/R's on them make them so desirable in my H.O. I also like the way they look on the KJ.

define "reasonable price"

Seems to me most people trying to sell them always wanted an arm and a leg for em.

I got all 5 of my Moabs/MTR's for $600.00 they were brand new and had less than 1K on them. you just have to look around.

These rims cost $130 each from online stores. They just look great, that's the deal with them. There are a few other pictures. If you don't like them, good for you, you can save your money.

I got one set for $500 w/ about 5k on them and another set w/ more miles but they were free.

Put it this way, go check out the price of those MTR's brand new at a tire shop for a set of five. Then look for the tire/wheel combo set from Rubicon owners that had to use "Balco" products on their Rubi.

A simple and easy way to get a great setup for off-roading.

Blackwall 245/75-16 MT/R's are $180 each. that's $560...for tires alone. for four.

I'm not a huge fan of the Moabs on KJ's, but there are worse wheels for it too. If I woulda stumbled upon a cheap Moab/MTR combo i woulda grabbed it. I think the 05-6 Rennie wheels are the coolest.

are those the 16" Cast aluminum Mineral Gray Metallic wheels? I see those in an old sales brochure and I agree they would look cool on my Dark Khaki Limited! Is it also safe to assume that it's easier to find larger/AT tires for the 16's than the 17" wheels?

I've seen most MOAB/MT/R sets going for about $300-$600 here in CO,some want a $1000 but after a couple of months they drop the $$$ to about $500.Keep a eye on CL and colorado4x4 board, sets show up every now and again.

Personally I'm loving these rims over any others ever made-----

There a 2 piece double internal bead(uses a internal rubber piece similar to staun beadlocks) lock alloy rim that is DOT approved.
Full specs and such here--http://www.rockmonsterwheels.com/new398.htm

Oh and bring a deep pocket book, they start at about $450 apiece(and worth every penny).

If you want to buy those Reny wheels from the dealer, enjoy the cost. I do believe they run well over $250/ea.
