I have an 02 with a loose wire behind the driver’s dash. Its been rattling/ buzzing so I’m trying to get the knee blocker off to get a look to see what’s going on.

Anyone know how to get the blasted thing off? I can release the bottom clips but the tops won’t let go. Is there a trick or do I just need to man up and give it a really good pull? I’ve pulled hard but I’m afraid I’ll snap something off. The service manual is useless for this task.

To release the bottom I pull up on the knee blocker panel until I can grab the bottom edge and pull out. The bottom clip pops but I can’t get the top to release.

I’ve got the top panel off and removed the instrument cluster so I think I can see the problem but I can’t drive this way. I wanted to get the knee blocker off so it would be easy to play around while testing driving.

Dont think there are any screws holding it on. It's a mofo to get that thing off. I stick a door panel removal door in the top and then just twist it. The knee panel then just pops off.
