I have been looking for some reasonably priced used limited seats with no such luck since the majority says they are a bit more comfortable. I find my sport seats to be comfy enough and all i really need is a bit more leg room. After about an hour and half of driving my my right knee is hurting. I have to stop get out, walk around and stretch it. I cant understand why they dont make the seats go back further. They go forward far enough where there is no way possible anyone can drive it that way.

Anyway I think i found a solution to give about an inch more of leg room. I plan to move the seat back about 1" on the current seat track brackets. Both of the front driver seat brackets have extra holes about 1" back. The rears will need some fabrication. The right side bracket is welded and revited. I can drill out the rivets grind down the welds and move accordingly. Then throw some nuts and bolts in there and reweld. I know this probably makes no sense without pictures, but i'll give it a try since it wont cost me anything but time. If it's successfull i'll report back with some pics on thursday or friday.

Well I did it and got about 1 1/4" more leg room. I guess that's better than nothing considering it didn't cost me anything.

Does your 02 have power seats?

Being 6'3", I'd like to get an inch or so out of my drivers seat. Thanks for the post I'll have to check this out.

No i have manual seats. I can tell it's back a tiny bit but an 1 1/4" isn't that much. Another 1" back would be perfect. I'll mess with it again tomorrow.

I've never sat in a Sport before, but I remember reading somewhere that the Limited seats are "worth the price of admission." I'm 6'4" and the seats were comfortable enough to sit in for a 15-hour roadtrip from Kansas City to Salt Lake. There's plenty of legroom for me up front with the seats all the way back, but the rear could use a couple inches. Are the seats that different in the Sport that they provide noticeably less legroom? Or do you guys just have really freakishly long legs?

It's gotten to be quite the good source for parts since some parts houses want an arm and a leg and your first born male child. Also check on line that is another source as the Salvage places have gone Hi -Tech, and seat covers are plentiful.

LOL no my legs are normal for my 6' frame. The driver seat just didn't go back far enough for me. I"ve heard the limited seats are more comfortable and go back further but i've never sat in any so i cant verify that.

Rush,

I checked several salvage yards around my area. All they have are "sport" seats and they still want an arm and a leg. I've checked online and ebay but everything is too far away for me to pick them up. Shipping ends up being as much if not more than the actual seats. :?

More modifications today. I had to extend the r/f bracket. After cutting, welding and drilling all afternoon I have a total of 2.5-3" of extra leg room. I'm happy with it plenty of leg room now. :) What a pita this was.

I'd love to see picts of your modifications. Do you have any to share?

The Limited seats do well for me, but I'd trade them for my old Jetta Wolfsburg seats in a heartbeat. THOSE were comfy seats! If you're gonna spend money on replacement seats, don't go nuts looking for the Limited seats. They're not THAT much more comfy.
