A few noises coming from the KJ now (30k miles on it)

Whenever the jeep goes over a large bump or abrupt dip in the road (example: speed bump) I get an awful squeaking/crunching/shrill sort of noise that sounds like heavy pieces of rusted metal grinding and smashing against each other. This only occurs when I get the whole front end (both wheels) over the dip/bump at a decent speed (enough speed to actually make the suspension compress and rebound). As far as I can tell, the noise is coming from only the front end. Any diagnosis would be appreciated.

Whenever I come to a stop or accelerate there is the slightest thud like theres a small rock rolling around on a skid plate coming from the front end. Is this normal? Ive read various posts of people having this noise as well.

If you need more description just ask.

The squeek is the sway bar bushings
fix is silicon lube

the thud or knock is normal ,or at least I hope it is
our KJ has done it from day 1

When it comes to problems like this ,noises
The easy answer is to turn up the radio and when it breaks fix it

Where do I lube these up at... I know nothing about this sort of thing (when it comes to cars) as this is my first vehicle. Pics or description please. Thanks too for the help.

This might be overkill for the 1st time you grease them - but it has photos.

Use the photos from the above post and spray the lube on both sides
IIRC there is a gap or some room for the red straw to go in if so spray some in there real good
drive it for a while if it is stil there spray again

DO NOT USE OIL BASED SPRAY
WD-40 is oil based

Do you have any kind of lift? I just had similar problem with Rustys lift, the top nut that held the strut and the spring together was loose and was causing noises kind of like what you described. If you don't have a lift thats probably not what it is.

no lift, usually gets worse after temps drop below freezing or if it snows a little (car isnt garaged) I went over so bumps at speed today an no noise but I am still going to grease it up just to make sure.
