Hey guys, next week my jeep goes in for a full service. Front diff, rear diff, engine oil and filter, tranny fluid and filter, transfer case and spark plugs. I got all my fluids except the tranny fluid, i wanted to check with the shop to see if they thought it needed to be done and they said yes. Anyways, one the amsoil site it says: Automatic Transmission, 4-Shallow Paneed Initial Fill..........3.8 liters Or total fill 8.3 litres. Which one would it be? Also they are charging me $150 to do it all, seems like a good deal to me. |

Ohh wow, they are only charging $150 to change the front and rear diff, tranny, tcase, and the engine oil? Thats a great price for labor! The amount it takes varies it seems. I used 8 quarts when I dropped my tranny pan to change the filter. I left my cover off over night as I didnt get done in time so I guess it slowly dripped out. Everyone else claims between 5-6 quarts. If you flush the tranny it takes alot more fluid, so I suppose that what it means by 'total fill'. You use a machine to pump fluid through the tranny so it changed ALL the fluid. Ill let you figure out the quarts=liters. |

yea and the spark plugs too! We know the people at the shop there so they give us a good discount on labour. If its small stuff like just an oil change they do it for free because my dad helps fix their computers if they break |

I will have to ask them what they think. Now onto the next issue, tomorow i go buy the tranny fluid! First off, whats a good brand to get at a decent price. There is a place that sells just amsoil tranny fluid, but its $12 a litre. And if i do need like 8-10 litres, thats a lot of money. Money of which i do not have so i need something cheaper but will perform well. Suggestions? |
