Anyone else on the board notice imperfections on their vehicle right from the dealer? I have two or three areas on my vehicle in the shape of a circle about 2-4in in diameter that have a flat appearance instead of glossy. It almost looks like someone sprayed flat black paint over the clearcoat. I'm going to call the dealer pretty soon here, but I don't know if they would have to repair it.

Gloss is okay on mine, but I have a few spots on the fenders where relatively small rock hits resulted in chunks of paint flaking off, almost like the plastic surface hadn't been prepped correctly. none are larger than a pencil eraser, but it's annoying having a couple small black spots on a metallic silver fender.

Speakin of rocks...I had one rock hit the window within the first week and crack it and then another within the first month. I hate Michigan roads! They were throwin down that asphalt, just layin it in potholes and it was flyin everywhere. I spent 2hrs cleaning the remains off the paint and windshield.

Are the 'flat' spots on the sides of the tops of the Jeep? IE, are they on the roof and hood?

If they are, its possible thats from bird poo that etched into the paint. Gotta get that stuff off as fast as you can since it can contain acids that dont like your paint.

One spot is on the right side just in front of the antenna mount, above the fender flare and the other is on the right side between the cargo window and the rear window. They have been there since I bought the vehicle 07/2007. The pattern is not irregular which leads me to believe it was something wrong from the factory. The pattern is almost a perfect circle. The edges don't have sharp borders, it gradually changes from flat back to gloss on the edges. It looks like someone held a can of spray paint several inches from the vehicle and tapped the nozzle, giving a perfect circle being very flat finish in the center and gradual fade to glossy on the edges. Weird.

Possible they over buffed that area when they prepped it? I don't know how long the warranty is on paint but you just noticed it?

I noticed it within the first week, but have been busy with school which is why I haven't contacted them. I mentioned it in a customer satisfaction survey they sent but didn't get any response. I've waited until now because I need the vehicle daily, but with the end of the semester approaching I plan on contacting the dealer. It's not something I'm losing sleep over but I figured I'd see if anyone else noticed a similar defect.

Since u reported it on the survey I'd look into the warranty and make em cover it.
