Ok i ask a lot of questions and thats because local auto people here are stupid lol. My jeep liberty needs new brakes pretty bad right now, and i work for an autoparts store and get a good discount. BUT, they want $86 EACH!! rotor for aimco rotors, not cross drilled or anything, just basic premium rotors. thats going to be like $250 or more just for freaking rotors on my jeep. Does anyone know of a good place to buy from online that will ship to canada for some good rotors? i am not paying $86 a piece for darn rotors!

autozone isnt in Canada, atleast not where i am

I have Tnt auto parts, Lordco and canadian tire.

Canadian tire wants $59 for their cheapo rotors
I can get cheap crop rotors for $30 a piece at lordco but i want some half decent ones but not for $86 a piece

what makes you think you need new rotors?
or why?
can they be turned?
we have 50K on the OE break pads over almost 4 1/2 years and still looking good
I also have a F250 with 113,XXX miles and still on the OE rototr ,3 sets of break pads but still OE rotors

I have been told by many on here and mechanics that the oem rotors for mine is already very thin to begin with and can cause warping if machined. I was told by the dealership that my pads only had 30% left on them when i bought them and by my mechanic last week that they only have a few thousand km left before they are toast and he showed me and they are pretty much gone.

there is a fai bit of scolding on the rotors so i would rather get them replaced and save the headache. I had cheapo rotors on my beretta before and had them machined and they warped within a week and almost got me killed.

I have cheap rotors from advanced $29 each. I'm on my second set of pads and rotors since i owned my kj. With the rotors so cheap i just replace them with the pads. So far zero problems with the cheap rotors, haven't warped them yet.

I know about warped rotors but I only know of 1 issue with them and that is that they will make you get a BAD shimmy when you apply the breaks ,my old toyota did it but I was able to get them turned and back good enough to work
lasted I would guess 20K+ like that untill I sold it
I would just get the OE's turned and see what happens

Stay away from anything drilled or slotted.

Post subject:  Try Sears

As much as I detest these big boys sometimes just the fact that they have an incredible warranty plan makes them worth while. I recall my father telling me many years ago of how Firestone walked away from a lucrative deal with Sears only because their stingent specifications was not in firestones best interest. True or false it makes one think of a company who has a reputation for standing behind a product, may not be the best but allows a extra insurance policy until on can go with the higher dollar product. 8) 8)

I think powerslots are great. I personally had them on 2 of my previous cars and they are worth the money and a cheap alternative to brembo's. I dont have them for my jeep because i can find something else to spend $200 on plus it's an suv and not a sports car. I got ebc pads with stock cheap rotors and it stops fine.

I dont know why some people trash drilled/slotted rotors and say they dont work. Last time i checked they're on $100k+ Ferraris and Porsches. Never heard any of the magazines saying "these brembos suck, need to change to solid finned rotors." :?

Yes, they are on high end cars. They are also well designed from the start with that design intent in mind, generally though the slotted or drilled rotors you will buy for any other vehicles are merely blank rotors that have been modified and in fact have decreased thermal mass and are more prone to cracking and warpage.

Give me good blanks anyday over something slotted/drilled. Theres nothing I hate more than warped rotors on the track, unless its boiling brake fluid on the track. I've had both, I know which hold up better in high performance braking situations.

You can get solid Brembo rotors for $50 a piece from tirerack.com.

I would get some good ceramic pads too.

ah i see what you're saying. i guess that's what those cheap ebay drilled slotted rotors are. they take a cheapo blank over to the drill press and tada cross drilled rotors. then over to the chop saw and you got slotted rotors. yeah those wouldn't be good.
