Post subject:  OFFICIAL CHEAP MOD PAGE

There are all kinds of things we can do to our KJ's without spending thousands, so let's get together a list of things to do for the weekend warrior types. I am also looking for new ideas for mine....

Stuff I've done thus far

Tint
iPod hardwire
Hellas install
EVIC

Planned?

Inverter install in dash
Somehow, someway a low profile Black Widow roof basket using Mopar rails

What other fun stuff is there to do?

I don't think there is anything that I could fab up that would be A) as strong as the Mopar and B) look as good (read, not chintzy) I'd like to try to get the mopar rack and Black Widow basket much closer to the roof. It would work just fine if the d@mned stock rails didn't get narrower towards the back!!

The ones I made are not as low profile as some may want, but I would bet that the siderails bend before the crossrails do.

x2 8) If it falls under my price point I'm there. Got my boulder bars, front skid and front receiver hitch in a deal from Dynamike, then my lift came off of Signcutter21's KJ when he upgraded to a Frankenlift, and the roof rack is off JJ's wife's Jeep. Never let a good deal go to waste :P

Patience.

Carolina Rock Shop was going through some tough times this spring, took Andy almost 4 months to get me a set of his rock rails. Rather than $325 plus shipping, they ended up at my door for $250 flat.

Patience also goes a long way for a quality product. It looks like Rock Lizard is a prime example there... (And maybe JHCRASH for the 02-04 bumper  )

TEMPORARY FIX:
remove your front Brackets on the sway bar (holding the bushings).

Pull off bushing and grease it.

Reinstall.

PERMANENT FIX:
remove your front brakcets on the sway bar (holding the bushings).

Pull off bushing.

Put bushing in bracket and drill hole through both bracket and bushing and install Zerk fitting.

Reinstall.
