Its not any less likely to be totaled than a liberty Back in feb, 2 weeks after I got mine, a Grand Am GT was flying past me in the snow on the highway on a turn, lost it, and plowed into me. I was doing 45-50ish and they were doing at least 65. They lost it, slipped sideways and T-boned me. About 3 months later I was at a dead stop on the highway because traffic built up, just sitting there minding my own business and wishing traffic would hurry up, when behold! A lady driving a Nissan Altima rammed me full speed ahead, the police estimated no less than 65. Never even heard a tire screech. She took out all 4 fenders, both bumpers, tailgate, bent the exhaust system and muffler, popped the vents out of my vent holes, and my cell phone in the cup holder was a razr, it got smashed to bits. The bluetooth on my ear flew off and hit the windshield and broke. It should have been totaled, but the damage on it wasnt all that bad, being it was all plastic tupperware. Long story short, they replaced the tupperware, did an alignment and the thing drives mint. After that, I definately have some faith in the liberty. Personally I dont see an Envoy taking that kind of hit and not being totaled. I do wish you luck with your new GMC! |

Sorry to hear that you're leaving us - we could always use an extra mate And on the other side I'm happy to hear that a Liberty can withstand some punishment in a collison. That was one of the very good reasons to change from my old Patrol to this one... |

Did I miss a thread about the wreck? So do you think the liberty is not safe? If that why youre getting the rebadged trailblazer? http://www.safercar.gov/Index2.cfm?myCl ... ic+vehicle http://www.safercar.gov/Index2.cfm?myCl ... ic+vehicle Maybe you can sit in the passenger seat and drive? |

sorry to see you go! atleast you had some good times with your Jeep before you lost it No, that just means you're more likely to roll over in the KJ if you do something you SHOULDN'T do. Corvettes roll over more often than KJ's, statistically. |

Thanks all for the replies, but when I get a chance I will post a couple pics of what my Libby looked like after the accident and you will be wondering where the $8300 in damage is? Just proves to me that the Libby's are a little pricey to repair. And YES, I had 3 estimates done and they were all within $200 of each other. Oh and sorry Dje Ryu, I recently moved up to Alaska but forgot to update it in my profile, so I am no longer a Wyomingite anyways. |
