I have a couple of questions for you all

1) Is there any oem lift kit out there that will not void the warranty on my 07 KJ?

2) I would like too put some offroad tires on it, how big of a tire can I go, or should I just go with a snow and mud tire in a stock size?

3) What is that small wheel like looking thing that sit on the drivers side near the rear diff.?

  :?:

no oem lift. so if you want to lift it then you will probably void your warranty if anything ever goes wrong with your drivetrain or balljoints or anything

you can fit a 245-70-16 on your stock wheels and suspension and not rub, and if it does rub, it will be VERY VERY minor and nothing to worry about, i have 245-70-16 tires on my 02 with 44k miles and it doesnt rub

and that "wheel" thing i guess is some kind of balancer/vibration reducer of some sort or something. some have taken it off and havent noticed any effects or vibrations so i have heard

Only OEM lift is the one DC put on the 02's when they first started making them.

1. My dealer had a lift installed on my KJ so they could sell it. They told me that there are some Lift friendly dealers out there that sell demos with all sorts of goodies on them and that the stuff they put on there won't void the warranty since it was all dealer installed. That being said I have a 2.5" kit from Rocky Road Outfitters on my KJ.

2. I currently run 255/70/16 BFG Mud Terrains but the rubbing was pretty significant on the front end and lots of trimming was needed. So far I haven't noticed any significant rubbing on the rear side of things.

3. Been said already...vibration stabilizer thingy AKA the KJs Balls...

But there is the BIG trade off. A dealership installed lift at the HIGHEST POSSIBLE labor rate and HUGE MARK -UP. but then when it is time to get something done under warantee, it is Chrysler who eventually okays things.

For the cost of a stealership installed lift you can do a bunch of good stuff that will void your warantee, but the money you saved is a big factor to me.

Stick to what people tell you about lifts on here. Get the BEST you can afford. The suspension lifts like Old Mn Emu and what not are the best. They have been proven to work WITH your suspension and not against it causing problems like some of the cheaper lifts do.

Then again a spacer lift like Daystar are cheap, well tested, few problems, don't require you to change shocks, struts or upper A arms, and many dealers will install a mild one (2 inch or less) for you.

The down side (depending on your point of view) of spacer lifts is that they don't give you as much flex, aren't available in the bigger lift range, dont extend as far as springs do and since the pucks dont compress, limit how far you can stuff the tires into the wheel wells. (This could be viewed as a plus since you don't need to add bump stops.)

I've been very happy with the spacer lift, but I do intend to go to a suspension lift eventually.
