Well are there any brush guards or bull bars that you can keep your front tow hooks with? |

Because most after market bumpers are designed for shackles and a winch. If you have a winch, why would you need tow hooks? I know they are handy and cool looking but if there is a big hunk of steel where there used to be plastic, why would you need to have the tow hooks. Alot of people have a winch and usae a snatch block on a tree and then back to a shackle. Tow hooks are great if you need to be pulled out of a ditch, but if you can pull yourself out why have them? |

exactly. some of us don't want to go extreme and replace the entire front bumper. we just want a brush guard along with some recovery points. |

If your brush guard mounts using the existing holes for the factory tow hooks is there any way you could use a longer bolt and put the tow hooks under the brush guard? |

I have a mopar brush guard and it uses the exact holes the tow hooks use, as for putting the hooks under where the guard mounts i'm not sure what might be prohibiting that. I'm not going to be able to look for another week so I'll get back to you on that. |

Me too. I already checked it out. If you remove your tow hooks from the heavy block they mount to (that you have to remove anyway to mount the brush guard) you are left with just the bare hook. Take a piece of flat stock about the same width as the tow hook mounting plate and about twice as long. Drill two holes in it that line up with the 2 bolts on the brush guard where it mounts to the frame. Drill 2 more holes in it that line up with the tow hook holes. Mount the tow hooks to one end of the stock, then mount the whole shebang to the brush guard mounts. Voila! All you need is two short pieces of flat stock. Since the tow hooks are mounted real close to the bolts that mount to the brush guard strength shouldn't be compromised. |

From my picture o the first page, you can see that I have the bull bar support mounted on top of the mopar tow hook. The bolt that came with my bull bar was about 1/2" longger than the mopar bolt which was what made this set up possiable. As some on here have said, the bull bar interfears with the tow hooks. I have about a 1" gap between the bull bar and the tow hook. Plenty of room to to get to your tow point. |
