Today when i went to head out, the light that goes on when you first turn on the vehichle that says passenger side airbag off, stayed on and wont go off. I dont know why that would suddenly come on, anyone else had this issue before?

Mine was kind of quirky at times as well, black tape or better yet paint takes care of it

mines never on and i usually drive alone back and forth to work and then when i go out i got my gf with me and its never on. This time i was going out to pick up dinner and i noticed it on. Turned the car off, let it sit, turned it on, still on. I just take it to my dealer, im still under full warranty for another month, mise well take advantage of it lol.

I rather make sure it works properly incase im in an accident and my gf is with me too, want her to be safe

When I first got my Jeep I had to have the passenger side seat belt replaced. The light would stay on all the time when the Jeep was cold, usually below 40F. There is a sensor in the selt belt evidently.

As long as the light is not staying on when NOTHING is in the seat, its working properly. If the light is on when a person is in the seat that means they do not weigh enough for the airbag. An airbag can actually hurt a person if they are not big enough. Main reason why the back seat is best for smaller kids.

AHA! I had chinese food sitting on the passenger seat! pretty heavy, dinner for 4. Because when i went to go get my gf and nothing was in it, it was off and stayed off when she got in it. So everything is fine!

Thanks jeepjeepster! saved me a trip to the dealer
