Does anyone know how I can make a hinge that will be strong enough to hold up my spare tire? Ive seen them made and for sale on the internet but they are $50 and i would like to make my own if I could, Is there a way I could make one from a spindle?

like this spindle:

dont bother
use a 1" to 1.25" bolt with 2 washers between the swing and the bumper
that is what me and my brother have
he has a 35" tall mudder on his with no issues
the lock deal that we made failed on his but the big bolt held fine
