DOT 3 is recommended, but DOT 4 supercedes DOT 3 and they are compatiable(they will mix).DOT 4 has a higher boiling point then DOT 3.

Wouldn't the dealer (if that is who is servicing your KJ) know to top off the fluid after the pad swap? Just curious

If that was a question then yes they do they just in fact sent me a flyer on their new high Performance Brake Fluid and they went on with a discussion with Boyd Coddington along with his endorscment for Amsoil. Now I'm no longer bumper to bumper Amsoil I guess it's time to spend some more money and upgrade :P   8)

That’s exactly what I was thinking! Hey, do you have Amsoil ATF in your Power Steering? Do you have AMSOIL in your Radiator? This is a test to see how devoted you really are! Oh, I was gonna ask you, are you running 0W-30 in your KJ?

I do have the ATF in the power steering I don't have the anti-freeze yet only because when I bought the Jeep in late July of 2006 it had a bad radiator and A/C system so it was all new upon purchase. But I just replaced the Power steering fluid and it steers real smooth now. Before I replace the anti-freeze I need to replace the drivers side rotor , front pads, install tow hooks, get sliders and armor. But being unemployed since mid August and trying to get qualified for disability benefits I have to watch all my nickles and dime. But i've been an Amsoil dealer since 1977!! so I would hazzard to say I may have some product and brand loyalty going
PS Yes I am running 0W-30 in the Jeep since purchase and in my prior ride a '95 Dodge Dakota 4x4    :-)r :-)r

Here are a few products that I use:

Amsoil bar/lube oil (for chainsaw)
Amsoil 2 cycle oil (for chainsaw)
Amsoil Food Grade Grease (for my honey extractor)
Amsoil Coolant
Amsoil 0W-30 (Jeep Liberty)
Amsoil 5W-30 (Dodge Ram Cummins)
Amsoil 10W-30 (John Deere Lawnmower)
Amsoil (Hydraulic tractor oil)
Amsoil Severe Gear
Amsoil ATF (transmission and power steering fluid)
Amsoil air filters
Amsoil full-flow oil filters
Amsoil by-pass

I think that covers it!

You beat me out in useing amsoil more then myself. But I have used it all my rides through out the years. The best acknowledgment I ever got was years ago when I bought a Toyota from my borhter-in-law who was working for the local Toyota dealership. A month after purchase I brought it back for some warranty work, (by this time I had already converted to synthetic) when i went to pick up my car the first words out of his mouth was "I'll never bad mouth you funny oil ever again!" I said thank-you but what has changed you tune?? After all you take great pleasure in giving me S#!T on a regular basis. His Reply was you car is the quitest smoothest running car on my lot the only thing I can attribute it to is you synthetic oil.

Somebody broke the ice on the New Amsoil brake fluid so I guess I just gotta get in on this too. :P

Featured Products Page, Incl Brake Fluid

FWIW, I am almost Bumper to Bumper Amsoil products in all 3 of my Jeeps (just waiting for the brake fluid to get here) and all but coolant and brake fluid in my Scion .

I've been waiting for you to join in sorry if I baited you into this discussion. But you have a lot more Cred with the LOST family, aditionally despite my longevity with Amsoil, you have far more experience with a wrench in you hand and performing major surgery on Jeeps.
