My window rolls down fine...but when I try to roll it back up (ELECTRIC), the window slants sideways a little and won't roll up. Until I physically grab it and straighten it back up...then it rolls the rest of the way up fine. What could be the problem....its a 2007, so its under warranty. I just want to make sure the JEEP garage has what I need before I make the long trip to go there. I don't want to have to make 2 trips. Clark (SupermanWV) |

All KJ's have an issue with the clips that hold the window glass on the regulator (the movement). Question: do you have after market windo tint? My 07 had to have one of the plastic clips replaced too. Not a big deal, just get it looked ate and DO NOT USE THEN WINDOW till you do. could do much more damage to the mechanism. They thing about window tint... According to my window tint installer and my dealer's service dude, Some tints when installed can catch the weatherstriping in the front of the window track (up by the mirror) and grab the window contributing to the problem. Both advise trimming the tint back a little and applying silicone like armourall to the weaterstripping to help the track not grab the glass. Basiclly the regulators are a poor design and have never been good. |

Mine ('07 Sport) doesn't slant when rolling up but is considerably slower to roll back up and sometimes "skips" up, rolling very inconsistantly. Same issue? |

Tom, Jesus, you are worst than my mother. I am sure not everybody took my point to mean that ALL KJ's had broken windows. Why must you be so freakin nit picky? ALL KJ's do have the same regulators. ALL KJ's do have the same windows. Alot have had issues with them in all 4 of the functioning windows. I think only a person with a very small imagination could assemble my comments to mean that ALL KJ's are malfunctioning. Get a Life! |

Thanks for the info. Clark Mine was/is screwed up too on a 2007. They had a TSB to lube it, and it's worked good enough since then. Seems like something that is bound to break for good once the warranty expires. |

In a similar thread a couple months ago, I noted the same for my 06. The dealership fixed them under warranty, the front right and rear left windows. Suspect the driver's window is next. |

Each time they tell me they just needed to be lubed. No tint. I wonder if there is anything else we can do other then continue to take it in each time and complain. |

My 2007 has been in 5 times. Next Saturday, I have an appointment for my 6th time. They are going to try a new window regulator. Personally, I think they are grasping at straws, but its under warranty so I will humor them. I have had my window channels lubed, had a TSB done on both front windows. My passenger window has been fine now since the TSB, but the drivers window is driving me nuts. |

MY STORY SOUNDS JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSES..... They did the TSB, and lubed the tracks. Says they adjusted some kind of grove that the window slides in....NOT SURE WHAT THAT IS... Basically they tilted the main piece the window sits on to make it keep the window tilted towards the rear of the door so it goes all the way up without leaning forward.... Who knows how long this will last....HOPEFULLY for good. Seems to work fine at this point. Clark |

I love reading toms and woodys posts. Never had any problems with my windows. My front windows have also had tint on them for over a year. They roll up and down nice and smooth. I DO know if my window ever breaks Im going to sell it, make my brother sell his Jeep, and make my parents sell their Jeeps! Stupid POS! LEMON! Do you ever drive in mud or alot of dust supermanWV? I know it will get all over the windows, but maybe you could roll the window down and spray some Silicone grease in the tracks. You may be able to take the door panel off and clean them out and spray them real good without getting it on the glass. Anyone know if spraying silicone would be the best thing to use or would something else be better? |

I would use a lithium grease personally. Silicon lubes can gum up pretty quickly... And while I haven't had a problem with my windows - if they do ever break I will be more mad about the busted window than a blown transmission |

My left rear window regulator on my '06 has already been replaced twice. Also, oddly enough, it has been rolled up and down maybe 20 times tops in its 1 and a half year life. bummer. My kingdom for old fashioned window cranks.... (btw this is the only issue I have had with my liberty. Outstanding vehicle. As dependable as the sunrise...) |
