Well this week i will be ording the muffler and hopefully by next weekend i will get my flowmaster super 44 installed. What i was wondering about though was what everyone did to the tail pipe, did you put on a tip or leave it as is? I see a few with tips, did they have to put on an all new tailpipe that is more level with the rear bumper to put on a tip? anyone with pics would be great. I have to try and show this exhuast shop what i want and explain it the right way lol

Thanks !

Left it as is. Muffler really didn't change much if at all. Intake and exhaust are pretty good designs out of the factory.

Wifes KJ has a Borla tip but only because it had a Borla cat-back when we bought it. I Destroyed the Borla muffler, added a Flowmaster to the exisitng Borla cat-back tail pipe and left the Borla tip since she liked it so much. They tucked it up closer to the RL rear bumper and it is fine.

On my KJ, it was factory exhaust pipe, no tip, FM muffler. Worked fine for me and stayed out of the way when backing up obstables.

I just put a Thrush Turbo Muffler in the place of the factory one. Not loud and not quite...and only $20.

I left mine as is.. I like it being hidden.

When I see a truck on the road with tail piece sticking out I know which truck it is that sounds good. When I drive by and it sounds good, no one knows where to look since my tail pipe is hidden. Sneaky sneaky. 8)

When my Magnaflow was installed, only the muffler itself was cut out. The stock muffler is much longer than the 14" Magnaflow, so they added the extra pipe and that was that - same tailpipe, et al.

I'm not a big fan of chrome, polished aluminum, etc. on Jeeps so I do NOT want a tip.

Hope all goes well for you!!
